Talbot and Muir – Statement – Covid-19
COVID-19 (Coronavirus) 26th March 2020 update
At Talbot and Muir, the safety and well-being of all our customers, staff and their families continues to be our highest priority.
Following the update from Prime Minister Boris Johnson (23rd March), that restricts the movements of people, we have taken the decision to move onto the next phase of our business continuity plan and now have the majority of our staff working from home.
This facility has been in place for some time and robustly tested and we are confident that you will continue to receive the high levels of service and technical support that you have come to expect from us.
We continue to follow the Government’s advice and this will, inevitably, mean that some of our processes and timescales will alter. We will also need to prioritise our activities to ensure we deliver all of the essential services expected of us.
How can you help?
- Where possible we would prefer to receive communications by email rather than post or phone during this period.
- For time critical new applications, please allow extra time for us to process these, particularly where contributions are to be made by a particular deadline (we are at the mercy of the postal service and the cooperation of Banks and other third parties and their response times are beyond our control).
- Due to the length of time it can take to open a SIPP bank account, your client may be intending to make a pension contribution by cheque in order to ensure receipt prior to the tax year end. In this respect, current operational issues surrounding Coronavirus may prevent us from being able to receipt such payments in time to meet a particular deadline. We will however still attempt to open the SIPP bank account in time, but this may be dependent upon circumstances outside of our control and also can only be attempted once we have received the fully completed SIPP establishment paperwork,
- Please be patient if we do not respond to your enquiry as quickly as normal! We will, of course, prioritise work and more routine tasks that are not time critical may be slightly delayed.
We thank you for your continued support and patience.
If you have any questions, please do contact your usual Business Development Consultant or call 0115 841 5000 and you will be directed to our Adviser Support team.
